Curriculum Overview
The GPS Kids Club curriculum varies based upon the time of year, how much time your child spends with us during the day, and what their areas of attention are but there are a few key components which are consistent.
Daily Bible Stories and/or Related Lessons
These stories are based upon the season and lessons focus on community spirit and becoming a well rounded, respected, charitable adult. Areas of emphasis included:
- Self-Respect
- Honesty
- Integrity
- Confidence
- Self-Esteem
- Teamwork
- Charitable Giving
- and of course… Community
Homework Help
Every child has access to homework assistance in reading, math, spelling on a daily basis (Monday-Thursday). This is included in the Summer curriculum as well.
Essential Life Skills
In an effort to develop well-rounded adults, we offer programs related to a wide range of essential life skills including cooking, gardening, sewing, woodworking, and household management as well as any additional topics which are continually being addressed.
Introduction to Music/Drama
We strive to expose children to a range of music and drama related activities such as instrumental introductions, karaoke, short skits/plays, puppets, and more.
Multifaceted Games
We offer a range of games such as dance revolution, guitar hero, air hockey, and a variety of other games meant to enhance hand-eye coordination, critical thinking, game theory, and critical thinking.
Arts and Crafts
Seasonal arts and crafts sessions will be provided as dictated by the time of year.
Free Play Room
GPS Kids Club also features a unique free play room. It includes a library, Lego blocks, Barbie, pool table, air hockey, and Foosball table to encourage growth, camaraderie, and a sense of experimentation, competition, and teamwork.
Community Service
While it can be difficult to integrate community service events within our hours of operation, we continue to look for new and innovative ways to continually give back to the local community.
